Wetland Strategy

Wetland Strategy

NSWA completed the Strategy to Improve Wetland Management in the North Saskatchewan Watershed (Wetland Strategy) in 2024.

The purpose of the Wetland Strategy is to increase wetland areas in our watershed, improve their overall health, and enhance future wetland management through partnerships.

NSWA teamed up with partners to create a strategy that fits with local plans and policies, for a more unified approach to restoring and conserving our natural areas.

Workshops with various partners, knowledge-holders, and technical experts helped shaped four main goals:

Education and outreach icon shows person teaching others

Coordinated Planning icon shows documents and arrows

Wetland monitoring icon shows water and cattails inside magnifying glass

Collaborate and take action

Build & mobilize knowledge

Optimize Planning, Policy, and Financial Programs
